Weather Merit BadgeNOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) offered free to those Scouts that wanted a chance to earn the Weather Merit badge. Scouts were able to visit the NOAA station and learn about what causes weather, how to be safe during hazardous weather, how NOAA generates their forecasts, and job opportunities available in the field of weather. One of the really neat things the boys got to see was the insides of the electronic portion of the weather ballon's recorder/transmitter. Hats off to the staff of NOAA for hosting such a great and fun event!
