2011 Troop - October CampoutOct 22-24, 2011 Troop trip to Effigy Mounds. On the way we toured to the National Farm Toy Museum (Dyersville, IA). Once arriving at our camp site (Pikes Peak State Park) we set up camp and took a quick tour of the sites above the Mississippi River. Next mourning we took off for Effigy Mounds National Monument and learned about Indian life many moons ago and hiked the park. A minor storm cell dropped 3/4-1" of rain in 20-30 minutes just before we started to eat. Monday's return was we went through West Branch, IA to tour the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. What an awesome trip.
