BSA Centennial Tree Planting

It was chilly day in November but the Centennial trees had arrived. It was time to plant the trees in Evans Park and out at Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club.  We had members of Pack 152, Troop 152, parents, Adel Lions Club, and Adel Fire Department participate in the fun.  The boys learned how to size an appropriate hole, plant it, wrap it to help protect it during the winter and from insects, stake it, mulch it, and that water was critical for its survival.

THE REST OF THE STORY:  These were the trees that are to help the communities remember the 100 years of Scouting and to help beautify our communities as well as help repopulated a burned Flathead National Forest.  We found five organizations (Pack 152, Troop 152, Adel Lions Club, City of DeSoto, Minburn American Legion Post 99, and  Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club) to help sponsor the trees.
